Business Days Vidzeme–2018 in the city of Valmiera

On 18 and 19 of May in the city of Valmiera, in the framework of the Business Days of Vidzeme 2018 business events were held. The organizers are the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), the Vidzeme branch of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the municipal authorities of the city of Valmiera.

Natalia Vorobyova, General Director of the Vitebsk Branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, took part in the Business Days of Vidzeme 2018 programm, welcoming all participants of the grand opening of the event, mentioning the significant contribution of inter-chamber cooperation to business development.

The program  included a multidisciplinary exhibition of products of the enterprises of the city of Valmiera, Vidzeme and other regions of Latvia, and a business Forum. More than 250 participants took part in the events (heads of organizations, entrepreneurs, artisans, Vidzeme institutions and authorities of Latvia).

Within the framework of the business forum, the existing problems in the Latvian economy, the possibilities for their solution, the trends in the development of the business environment and in the world were discussed, the best businessmen of Valmiera were awarded. The Minister of Economy Arvils Ašeradens, Chairman of the LCCI Aigars Rostovskis, Chairman of the Valmiera Council Janis Bikes, economist of Citadele Bank Mārtiņš Āboliņš and others took part as speakers in the business forum.

Discussions on the possibilities of interaction of Latvian business (experience, condition, prospects) with the neighboring regions of Estonia, Lithuania, Belarus, Russian Federation were held. Vladimir Zubov, the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Pskov Region, Natalia Vorobyova, the General Director of the Vitebsk Branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Juris Slengis, the Head of the Vidzeme Branch of the Chamber of Commerce, Sigitas Gailunas the President of the Panevezys Trade, Industrial and Craft Chamber and the Head of the Marketing Department of the Estonian Chamber of Commerce Haley Lochmus participated in the discussion. Also, the chambers representatives discussed the issues of possible further interaction and joint business events in 2018-2019 during the visit.
